FAMÍLIA COM CRIANÇA VÍTIMA DE AGRAVOS POR CAUSAS EXTERNAS

This study presents the families’ perceptions on their children, victims of abuse or accidents, obtained by interviews with those children’s parents admitted to the pediatric clinic of a regional reference hospital in Vale do Rio Pardo, Rio Grande do Sul State, Brazil, which aims to contribute for the reflection on the child and family’s health care. The used methodology was the social constructivism(1), that made possible the qualitative analysis of the data. From this, the following categories emerged: the risk naturalization; the events as accidents; disclosed feelings (blame, responsibility, fear); uncapability to deal with the consequences and children’s family care.
