Smallcell neuroendocrine carcinoma of the uterine cervix: a case report and review of the literature
2020
A rare tumor among uterine cervix tumors, Small cell neuroendocrine carcinoma of the uterine cervix account for less than 2%. Neuroendocrine cervical carcinomas are exceedingly aggressive tumors with a high tendency for nodal involvement and distant metastases. The lack of prospective studies limits the ability to define concrete chemotherapy regimens, and the primary treatment is a multimodal approach including surgery, radiation, and chemotherapy. We report here the case of the only one small-cells neuroendocrine carcinoma of the uterine cervix diagnosed and managed in our department since 10 years.
