The invention provides an economical and optimal running control method and system for a high-concentration grinding system. The method comprises the following steps: acquiring spiral feeding amount, grinding disc pressure, diluted water flow, capacity, grinder load and pulp concentration of the high-concentration grinding system; and obtaining operating variable when an economic performance index function is minimum by using a pulp quality index freeness output model of the high-concentration grinding system, taking the operating variable as an operating variable optimal value, and issuing the operating variable to an executing mechanism of the high-concentration grinding system. The system comprises an acquiring unit, an operating variable optimizing unit and a running control unit. On the basis of high-concentration disc mill input and output related data measured by a sensor on a chemical and mechanical pulping production line, a pulp quality index freeness output model of the high-concentration grinding system, namely, a Wiener model formed by serially connecting a linear dynamic subsystem with a nonlinear static subsystem, is established, the economic performance index function is optimized, the optimal variable is obtained, and the economical and optimal running and pulp quality index freeness of the high-concentration grinding system are controlled effectively.
