DESIGN PROCEDURE FOR MINIMUM TRITIUM INVENTORY IN AN ISOTOPE DISTILLATION UNIT

This paper deals with designing of cryogenic distillation processes for the separation of hydrogen isotopes in a fusion process. The design must satisfy a minimum tritium inventory criterion. A general methodology for an automatic and optimal design in structure and operating conditions is here presented. Part of the procedure is implemented for optimal designing of different distillation structures.
