Past concerns and future roles for regional health boards

Many regional health boards have proved useful to provincial governments as both foot soldiers of downsizing and local agents of change. However, as I stated in a 1997 review,[1][1] “it is difficult to generalize about the performance of 123 devolved authorities in 9 provinces” (p. 822).
