Ultrasonic C-scan technique for testing bond quality of aluminum matrix composite piston wear ring

The ultrasonic C-scan testing method was used in detecting bond quality of wear ring of Al2O3 fiber reinforced aluminum matrix composites piston.By designing and making simulated contrast sample of Al2O3 fiber reinforced metal matrix composites piston,the ultrasonic C-scan testing method was used to study the bond quality of the simulated piston.It shows that the ultrasonic C-scan technique can not only identify and locate the defect,but also measure its size precisely.
