The invention belongs to the technical field of aluminum alloy and relates to a 7085 aluminum alloy doped with rare earth element erbium and a preparation method of the 7085 aluminum alloy. Specifically, the alloy comprises, by weight percentage, 0.1%-0.4% of Er, 7%-8% of Zn, 1.3%-2.0% of Mg, 1.3%-2.0% of Cu, 0.02%-0.04% of Cr, 0.08%-0.15% of Zr, 0.01%-0.08% of Si, 0.02%-0.05% of Mn, 0.01%-0.08% of Fe, 0.04%-0.08% of Ti and the balance Al. The 7085 aluminum alloy is prepared through a following method that firstly, a 7085 aluminum alloy blank material is prepared; secondly, an aluminum and erbium alloy ingot is prepared; thirdly, homogenization treatment is performed; fourthly, hot rolling forming is performed; and fifthly, heat treatment is performed. By adding erbium, the comprehensive mechanical performance of the 7085 aluminum alloy can be improved, and the method is simple and easy to implement, and suitable for large-scale production.
