Hot melt silicone pressure-sensitive adhesive composition containing siloxylated polyether wax as additive

1995
PURPOSE: To obtain a pressure-sensitive adhesive composition improved in hydrophilicity, etc., by adding a specified amount of a siloxylated polyether wax to a hot melt silixone pressure-sensitive adhesive having a specified composition and exhibiting pressure-sensitive adhesiveness and bonding force. CONSTITUTION: A hot melt silicone pressure-sensitive adhesive is prepared which exhibits pressure-sensitive adhesiveness and bonding force and is selected among mixtures and condensates of a silicone resin with a silicone fluid. To this adhesive, a siloxylated polyether wax having formula I or II (wherein R 2 is a 1-4C alkyl, phenyl or hydroxyl; R 3 is a 6C or higher alkyl; A is a polyethylene oxide of formula III or IV; R 4 is a 1-6C alkylene; R 5 is H or COCH 3 ; a and b are each 1 or greater; x and y have each a value greater than 0; and z is 1-100), having a melting point of 37-200°C, and used in an amount of 1-20 wt.% based on the total weight of the wax and the silicone pressure-sensitive adhesive to produce a hog melt silicone pressure-sensitive adhesive composition.
