TERAPIA DE ALTO FLUXO VERSUS VENTILAÇÃO MECÂNICA NÃO-INVASIVA EM PÓS-OPERATÓRIO DE CIRURGIA CARDÍACA PEDIÁTRICA: REVISÃO INTEGRATIVA

The study aimed to investigate the main differences between high flow therapy and non-invasive ventilation in the postoperative period of pediatric cardiac surgery. The research was carried out in the electronic databases VIRTUAL HEALTH LIBRARY (VHL) - SciELO, LILACS and MEDLINE, using the following keywords: Cardiac Surgery, Non-Invasive Ventilation and Oxygen Therapy, published in the year 2010 to 2020. A total of 54 possibly relevant studies were found, 24 selected for detailed analysis and only 7 were included in the review. The articles were organized as follows: Author / year, type of study, sample, objective and result for a better understanding. The present study shows that noninvasive ventilation is used mainly at two pressure levels, improves ventilation capacity, decreasing carbon dioxide levels, while high-flow therapy increases oxygen levels. High flow therapy, compared to non-invasive ventilation, does not allow to regulate and measure the amount of positive pressure generated in the airways.
