Diagnosis and Perioperative Management of Pheochromocytoma

1980
The pheochromocytoma is a tumor that is almost invariably lethal if untreated. The causes of death quite closely resemble the results seen in malignant hypertension. Nearly 20% of the patients died, however, from circumstances connected with an operational procedure or other medical procedures [3]. If, however, the diagnosis is suspected and confirmed early enough followed by proper surgical treatment, the cure rate will be very high for these patients.
