Adiponectin,insulin resistance and obstructive sleep apnea hypopnea syndrome

Adiponectin is an adipocyte-derived hormone with insulin-sensitizing properties. Recent studies have demonstrated serum adiponectin levels were significantly lower in obstructive sleep apneahypopnea syndrom(OSAHS)patients and insulin resistance is a typical feature of OSAHS and its complications. So low adiponectin may play an important role in the development of OSAHS and its complications. Key words: Adiponectin;  Insulin resistance;  Obstructive sleep apnea-hypopnea syndrom
