Channel Feedback for Millimeter Wave MIMO-OFDM System via Tensor Parallel Compression

We study the feedback of channel state information(CSI) in the millimeter wave(mmWave) multiple-input multiple-output orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (MIMO-OFDM) transmission. In a mmWave MIMO-OFDM system, the amount of CSI to be fed back increases sharply as the number of subcarriers and transmit antennas increases. In order to reduce the feedback overhead, the compression feedback scheme based on parallel tensor compression is proposed in this paper. By taking advantage of the high-dimensional characteristics of MIMO-OFDM system, parallel tensor compression is used to compress the CSI required by the transmitter. Simulation results show that the feedback overhead of the proposed algorithm is much smaller than the traditional feedback scheme.
