Quantitative evaluation of the mesenteric hypertrophy of Crohn′s disease

Crohn′s disease is a chronic transmural enteritis occurring in the digestive tract. It has been shown that abnormal hypertrophy of mesenteric adipose tissue is a significant lesion which affects the development of CD. However, this mesenteric hypertrophy is hard to precisely quantify.The purpose of this article is to review the methods on quantifying the mesentery, and discuss the efficacy of using them to evaluate the inflammation.
