Projection model of postgraduate student flow

An enrolment projection model based on the Markov chain is developed for postgraduate students at the College of Arts and Sciences in Universiti Utara Malaysia. Four years worth of data of student enrolments at the college were studied. The Markov chain model produced results close to the actual data for the first three years but deviated towards the fourth year. The model is helpful for the college's future planning in matters regarding postgraduate student e nrolments.
