Amperometric Detection for Bioanalysis
2022
Amperometry is a simple electrochemical technique that involves the recording of a current-time (it) data during the application of a constant potential. If conventional direct-current (DC) amperometry is used, the detection of non-faradaic current is usually negligible and the access to the faradaic current (proportional to analyte concentration) is easier for users. Beyond conventional amperometry, the advantages and disadvantages of other amperometric techniques, such as pulsed amperometric detection and multiple-pulse amperometry are also discussed in this chapter. Finally, an overview of applications of the amperometric technique in bioanalysis was also provided.
