The Neuropsychological Investigation as a Therapeutic and Rehabilitative Technique

1989
This chapter will outline the specific neuropsychological investigation that is structured on the basis of A.R. Luria’s work, mainly described in his books, Traumatic Aphasia [1] and Higher Cortical Functions in Man [2]. It is suggested that a qualitative examination along these lines must be accomplished to plan rehabilitation and neuropsychological treatment strategies for brain-injured patients. The models that Luria initially developed—as well as subsequent additions and modifications—will be explored, not only as a method for neuropsychological examination, but also as rehabilitation and neuropsychological treatment tools.
