Surface texturing using technical structures

Technical system (10) for selectively varying the texture an exposed surface (12), said system (10) comprising: a reversible reconfigurable structure (16) defining the exposed surface (12); an assembly of independent mechanisms (14), which are switchable between shapes, having the structure (16) are physically engaged and operable to transform a portion of the surface (12) mechanically to so cooperatively alter the texture when the forms are switched; and is coupled to an actuator that is communicatively coupled to each mechanism (14) and operable to activate the mechanism (14) and to turn off so as to cause that the mechanism (14) switches between the molds and the remodeled portion, each mechanism (14) comprises a fully closed and hermetically sealed core (14a) and the mechanism (14) further comprises: an amount of a substance that serves to absorb microwave radiation; or an amount of a phase change material, wherein the mechanism (14) is transformed due to a change in the phase of the material and the phase change material is an amount of water which is caused to selectively undergo electrolysis.
