Follow-up investigation and analysis on male patients' sexual function after low colorectal cancer surgery

Objectives: To explore the effects of low colorectal cancer surgery on male sexual function through follow- up investigation and analysis on patients in Shaoxing area. Methods: 213 patients of low colorectal cancer with normal sexual function in 5 general hospitals,from January 2011 to May 2014,participated in the study. Follow- up investigation and analysis of sexual function were performed. Results: Due to the comparison of postoperative erectile function and ejaculation,normal erectile function rate and ejaculatory function( Ⅰ grade) rate in18 to 40 years old group were 54. 5% and 48. 5%,respectively. The rates of patients with erectile dysfunction and ejaculatory dysfunction( Ⅱ Patients Ⅲ grade) were 45. 5% and 51. 5%,respectively. Normal erectile function rate and ejaculatory function( Ⅰ grade) rate in 41 to 60 age group were57. 1% and 52. 4%,respectively. The rates of patients with erectile dysfunction and ejaculatory dysfunction( Ⅱ Patients Ⅲ grade) were 42. 9% and47. 6%,respectively; normal erectile function rate and ejaculatory function( Ⅰ grade) rate in 61 to 70 age group were both 55. 1%. The rates of patients with erectile dysfunction and ejaculatory dysfunction( Ⅱ Patients Ⅲ grade)were 44. 9% and 57. 1%,respectively. Conclusion: Follow- up survey of the male patients' sexual function after low colorectal cancer surgery find that risk of getting sexual dysfunction for patients receiving low colorectal cancer surgery is as high as 48%,which has no significant correlation with age of patients.
