Effect of Cu substitution for Zn on the magnetic and dielectric properties of NiCuZn ferrite

Ni0.15Cu0.2+0.02xZn0.65-0.02xFe2O4(x=-2,0,2 and 4) ferrites were synthesized by conventional ceramic technology.It was found that the substitution of Cu for Zn has great influence on the microstructures,Curie temperature,magnetic and dielectric properties of ferrites.The initial permeability increases with x firstly and then decreases,and maximum initial permeability were obtained in sample with x=2.However,quality factor increases monotonously with x.Simultaneously,the Curie temperature increases with increasing x.With increasing x,the permittivity increases but the dielectric loss tanδ decrease firstly and then increases with minimum at x=2.High performance can be obtained for NiCuZn ferrite with x=2.
