Electron impact ionization of acrylonitrile
2008
Abstract An electron impact (EI) ion source and a double focusing sector field mass spectrometer were used to investigate ionization processes of acrylonitrile C 3 H 3 N. The ionization and appearance energies for observed singly C x H y N z + ( x = 1–3; y = 0, 1, 3; z = 0, 1) and doubly C 3 H 3 N 2+ and C 3 HN 2+ charged ions were determined by using the non-linear least-square fitting procedure to the raising set of the data points. In the case of ions: C 2 HN + /C 3 H 3 + , C 2 N + /C 3 H 2 + , C 3 H + , C 3 + , CH 2 N + , CHN + /C 2 H 3 + , C 2 H + , C 2 + , H 2 N + , HN + /CH 3 + , CH 2 + /N + , CH + , C + , C 3 H 3 N 2+ and C 3 HN 2+ these energies were obtained for the first time.
