Extracorporeal membrane oxygenation for patients with pulmonary embolism undergoing thrombolysis.
2021
Abstract Patients with massive pulmonary embolism undergoing catheter-directed therapy are at high risk for cardiopulmonary arrest in the periprocedural period due to severe right ventricular dysfunction. We report the outcomes of three patients with massive pulmonary embolism treated successfully with catheter-directed thrombolytic therapy and veno-arterial extracorporeal membrane oxygenation.
