An application of upward horizontal cut-and-fill stoping with fine unclassified tailings and cement in Shihu Gold Mine

2014
According to environmental and climatic characteristics, conditions of traffic transport and the present situation of mining in Shihu Gold Mine, several technologies such as three-stage slurring of dry tailings, continuous filling of unclassified tailings to form an artificial sill pillar, and continuous mining without pillars in panels were studied. As a result, the mine developed a technique with complete technology and equipment, of upward horizontal cut-and-fill stoping without pillars and in panel, using unclassified tailings and cement. By using this mining method, panel production capacity was up to 340 t/d, and ore dilution and loss were controlled within 1% respectively, which resulted in good economic, social and environmental benefits.
