The Role of CHS and CHS with Brim Supporter for Intertrochanteric Fractures of the Femur

In a prospective study we assessed the cause of cutting-out and varus deformity in a series of 240 intertrochanteric femoral fractures which had been internally fixed with either a CHS or a CHS with brim supporter.Cutting-out and varus deformity occurred in ten cases (4.2%). Implants placed in superior and posterior sides of the femoral head often caused mechanical failure.
