SOIL STRENGTHNING METHOD USING INTERLOCKING ELEMENTS

1992
In this report, we described the strengthning effect on sand, MASA, Silace, clay, KANTO-loam and those contained cement or lime by distributing the interlocking elements. This element is consisted of fiber like a net, and not required recoverity for bend or stability to keep plane.(1) Stress-strain behaviorThe degree of cohesion of MASA and Silace using intelocking elements was increased 2-3t/m2 with 0.2w% mixture. Using another soft type of interlocking elements, cohesion of MASA was increased 2t/m2 with 0.4w% mixture.(2) Effect on CBRThe effective increase of CBR of soil using interlocking elements is not recognized on practical level.(3) Effect on groundDivotted area on sandy ground could be decreased by using interlocking elements, and devotting test suggested that some type of elements would cause hige resistance with divotiing force.
