Cerebral functional connectivity and Mayer waves: phenomena and separability

Resting-state functional connectivity (RSFC) is based on low-frequency hemodynamic oscillations in the brain. We report that RSFC is independent of Mayer waves, another hemodynamic phenomenon reported in the same frequency range as RSFC.
