GEOLOGICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF THE FORMATION OF DINOSAUR FOOTPRINT FOSSILS IN THE LANZHOU—MINHE BASIN

2005
The characteristics of dinosaur footprint fossils and their horizon of occurrence in the Lanzhou—Minhe Basin, Gansu, indicate that the dwelling of dinosaurs was closely related to the Early Cretaceous sedimentary environment and tectonism. The basin extension stage and tectonic-stability stage were the optimal stages for the dwelling of dinosaur and the lacustrine-swampy environment was the optimal locus for dwelling of dinosaur. The advanced sequence of lake was a good cover for forming footprints.
