Metal-organic framework-derived porous carbon templates for catalysis

Abstract With the consumption of fossil fuels and environmental pollution, it is crucial to search and develop clean renewable energy for sustainable development in modern society. MOF-derived porous materials possess high porosity, large specific surface, high stability, and adjustable component/morphology and have shown great potential in catalysis applications. In this chapter, the synthesis strategies of various MOF-derived porous carbon materials are introduced systematically. The diverse catalysis applications, including heterogeneous catalysis, photocatalysis, and electrocatalysis, will be comprehensively introduced. In the end, particular challenges and opportunities of MOF-derived porous materials for the future development are critically discussed.
