Explosive forming simulation of beam blank continuous casting mold

Explosive forming of tube casting mold is an advanced high-energy forming technology. It has some advantages that the other forming methods can not be compared with, such as, high dimensional forming accuracy, high surface finish and high surface hardness. Tubular beam blank continuous casting mold has a non-symmetrical shape. According to its size and its structure, ANSYS LS-DYNA software module was used to simulate the explosive forming process of copper tube. According to the numerical simulation results, the amount of explosives of every parts and the distribution of explosives in the explosive forming process of copper tube were calculated. It can provide theoretical basis for practical application of explosive technology in the beam blank continuous casting mold.
