e13117Background: Genetic risk analysis hinges on patient provided data. Family history facts when reported by a patient at intake is notably hasty and incomplete. To remedy this weakness an iPad based intake system was designed and supported by Invitae. This system allowed single entry for multiple risk analyses for breast and colon cancer, MRI qualification, and genetic testing. Methods: Six breast surgeons, members of the American Society of Breast Surgeons introduced the iPad into their clinical practice. Software was customized for iPad technology. During the 3 month trial period each patient was asked to use the iPad to enter data appropriate for risk assessment. The data was then linked to the American Society of Breast Surgeons site, processed, and a patient friendly print out was generated Results: 1500 patients were evaluated by 6 surgeons over a 3 month period. This was compared to the general population of ASBrS surgeons numbering 499 who as a group saw 20969 patients and entered 5685 risk ass...
