Application of Infrared Imaging in the Field of Electrical Engineering

This article presents how infrared thermography can be used in the field of electrical engineering to monitor the thermal behaviour of electrical machines to detect potentially weak points and faults. In laboratory conditions, thermographic measurements of an electric generator for direct current at different operating modes have been made on a test model and its thermal characteristics have been analysed to improve the reliability.
