Predictive Role of Precordial QTc Dispersion for Ventricular Fibrillation During Acute Myocardial Infarction

2002
Objective To investigate the relationships between increased QT interval dispersion on ECG and an increased vetricular fibrillation susceptibility during AMI.Methods QT and QTc dispersions of 20 AMI patients (VF group) with subsequent ventricular fibrillation and 20 AMI patients (control gro up)without subsequent ventricular fibrillation within 24 hours of hospitalization were analyzed comparatively. Results The mean precordial QTc and QT interval dispersions were 70 ms±30 ms,32 ms±15 ms and 67 ms±30 ms,31± 17 ms,P0.01 for VF group and control group, respectively. Conclusions QT interval disperaion could predict the risk for ventricular fibrillation early in the course of acute myocarial infarction.
