Influence of Renal Failure on the Pharmacokinetics of Cicletanine

1987
Cicletanine chlorhydrate (C) is the first of the furopyridines, a new class of antihypertensives. At low therapeutic doses C reduces peripheral vascular resistance and increases arterial compliance. At higher doses, a natriuretic effect is added. C exerts its antihypertensive action through vascular H1 and H3 receptors antagonism and increased prostacyclin release.
