A nation wide online questionnaire survey on pulmonary rehabilitation in China in 2016

Objective Assessment of the clinical application of pulmonary rehabilitation in China. Methods Using questionnaires link on WeChat group and Breathing BBS. Results 314 of 327 were valid questionnaires.The perfect rate of pulmonary rehabilitation in large (provincial or municipal) hospitals and small (county )hospitals were 13.78% (35/254) and 2.00% (1/50), the rate of carried out but imperfect were 57.87%(147/254)and 42.00%(21/50), ready to carry out pulmonary rehabilitation respectively were 20.87% (53/254) and 26.00% (13/50), no pulmonary rehabilitation′ rate were 7.48% (19/254) and 30.00% (15/50), (χ2=26.16, P=0.000). The department of pulmonary rehabilitation in large hospitals and small hospitals respectively were respiratory medicine (79.53% and 72.00%), rehabilitation (38.58% and 20.00%), intensive-care unit (12.20% and 6.00%), outpatient (13.78% and 6.00%), other departments, such as neurology, build community (11.42% and 18.00%). The rate of prescription of pulmonary rehabilitation: respiratory muscle training were up to 91.08%, respiratory management were 81.53%, motor recovery rehabilitation were 80.57%, and the psychological rehabilitation were 66.88%. Conclusions Both large hospitals and small (county )hospitals have paid more attention to the pulmonary rehabilitation, but the perfect rate of them were low.The clinical application of pulmonary rehabilitation in China were imbalance in various departments.It is imperative to develop domestic pulmonary rehabilitation.
