Leishmaniasis-AIDS: Failure to Respond to Chemotherapy

This report is a retrospective analysis of the visceral leishmaniasis cases diagnosed in our laboratory. In the last four years we have diagnosed 62 VL cases from several regions in Spain. Eleven cases (18% of the total) were VL associated with AIDS. The geographical location was closely related to the normal epidemiological distribution of the disease.
