Tumour-like lesions of bone
2007
Tumour-like lesions of bone are commoner than primary neoplasms. They may be classified loosely into four groups: fibrous lesions, cysts, stress or reactive lesions and miscellaneous. Although most are relatively easily treated, they are important to diagnose correctly because of their possible association with malignant disease (e.g. osteofibrous dysplasia) or as a pointer to other diseases (e.g. brown tumour). Errors in diagnosis such as mistaking aneurysmal bone cyst for telangiectatic osteosarroma and vice versa may lead to serious mismanagement. © 2007 Rila Publications Ltd.
