Therapeutic effect of deroofing surgery on 25 patients with recurrent auricle pseudocyst

Objective To evaluate the clinical effect of deroofing surgery of cartilaginous outer cyst wall for the treatment of recurrent auricular endochondral pseudocyst.Methods50 patients with recurrent auricular pseudocyst were selected,all of them underwent the treatment of aspiration of fluid in the cysts followed by gypsum pressurizing.According to random mumber table,the enlisted patients were devided into 2 goups:observation group(25 cases) underwent deroofing surgery,control group(25 cases) again underwent the treatment of aspiration of fluid in the cysts followed by gypsum pressurizing.ResultsThere were significant difference in the cure rates between two groups after a mean follow-up of 8 months (P0.01).ConclusionDeroofing surgery of cartilaginous outer cyst wall is an efficient method for the treatment of recurrent auricular endochondral pseudocyst.
