ANALYSIS ON THE DETECTION RESULTS OF QUALITY OF BLOOD FROM 63 368 DONORS IN THREE GORGES RESERVIOR AREA

[Objective]To understand the infection condition of HIV,HBV,HCV,syphilis in the Three Gorges Reservior Area,and to provide evidence for screening blood donors to insure blood safety.[Methods]All the data came from a blood center in the Three Gorges Reservior Area. The basic information and detection results of 63 368 unpaid and paid blood donors from 2001 to 2006 were collected and analyzed.[Results]The detection results of these donors’ blood quality showed that the rejection rates of males in various age groups were significantly higher than those of females. The constituent ratios of HbsAg and syphilis infection came to be the top two. In different occupation groups,the rejection rate of workers was the highest(8.58%),the rates of the jobless and farmers came next,and the rates of medical staff,commercial workers and soldiers were the lowest.[Conclusions]Special attention should be paid to HBV when screening blood donors. However,the incidence of syphilis and HIV is rising in recent years.
