Local drug delivery from hydroxyapatite ceramic fibres

2009
Hydroxyapatite (HA) ceramic fibres were fabricated by diffusion-induced phase separation. The fibres were loaded with riboflavin phosphate (RP) as a model drug of water soluble antibiotics to treat orthopedic infections and subsequently spray-coated with polylactide (PLA) or poly(lactide-co-glycolide) (PLGA).
