The expression of β-catenin and Ki67 in acinic cell carcinoma of salivary gland and its significance

2014
Objective To investigate the clinical value of β-catenin and Ki67 in predicting the prognosis of acinic cell carcinoma in salivary. Methods The expression of β-catenin and Ki67 in 46 cases of acinic cell carcinoma and 10 cases of their adjacent normal tissues were detected by inmmunohistochemical staining( PV two- steps). The correlation of expression of β-catenin and Ki67 with prognosis was analyzed. Results Of 46 cases,18 cases recurred, and 6 cases were found lymph node metastasis. The abnormal expression of β-catenin in recurrent group was higher than that in non- recurrent group( P 0. 05). The incidences of recurrence and lymph node metastasis were higher in acinic cell carcinoma patients with label index( LI) of Ki67 ≥10%( P 0. 01). Conclusion The β-catenin and Ki67 might be useful markers in prediction of the prognosis of acinic cell carcinoma.
