Robot-Assisted Laparoscopic Ureteral Reimplantation

2020
The da Vinci® robotic system is being used to perform complicated reconstructive urologial surgeries. The feasibility of robotic assisted laparoscopic Cohen ureter reimplantation was investigated in animal model by Olsen et al. in 2003 [1]. Yohannes et al. published the first case of robotic assisted laparoscopic ureter reimplantation, and then an increasing number of cases were reported with robotic technology [2]. Laparoscopic Boari flap ureter reimplantation was first reported in 2001 by Fugita et al. [3]. In 2009 Schimpf et al. published robotic assisted laparoscopic Boari flap ureteral reimplantation [4].
