Bi-directional ultra-dense polarization-diverse OFDM/WDM PON with laserless colorless 1Gb/s ONUs based on Si PICs and <417 MHz mixed-signal ICs

We introduce a next-gen OFDM/WDM spectral architecture symmetrically serving 40G/40G to 4 ODNs (4×64 users) per 4×12.5 GHz dense λ -s, with low-cost energy-efficient self-coherent photonic-integrated ONUs with down/up 16-QAM OFDM polarization diversity.
