Similarity and collaboration in music networks

We analyze the existence of community structures in the social networks obtained from the similarity and collaboration between musical artists. The comparison between both networks, from the point of view of their corresponding community structures, reveals some characteristic patterns of organization that allow us to extract conclusions about the driving forces of both networks. Furthermore, we identify the role of the main hubs within, and between, communities and analyze their importance in the traffic of information around the network.
