Avaliação dos Hospitais de Ensino no Brasil: uma Revisão Sistemática

2015
Teaching hospitals (TH) are settings that develop teaching, research and the provision of high quality complex health services, based on humane and integral care, and on the principles and guidelines of the Brazilian Unified Health System. This study aimed to analyze the existing scientific literature on the evaluation of TH. Therefore, a systematic review was performed from July to September 2013 in the electronic databases Lilacs, Medline and SciELO, using the search descriptor “teaching hospitals”, and as inclusion criteria: empirical articles that discuss the TH; developed in Brazil; available in full text and in Portuguese language; published after 2004. Ten articles were included, read in full and subsequently discussed. The literature review suggests that the existing studies are insufficient to evaluate TH performance, demanding more research on the subject in other regions of the country, using qualitative or mixed methods to improve TH evaluation.
