Performance analysis of EPC-MIMO radar for range ambiguity resolution
2021
The range ambiguity poses a challenge in radar systems. To solve this problem, the element-pulse coding (EPC) scheme is performed in multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) radar. In this paper, the signal-to-ambiguous-plus-noise ratio (SANR) is introduced to evaluate the range ambiguity resolvability of the EPC-MIMO radar, where targets in different range regions can be separated effectively through conventional beamforming algorithm under ideal conditions. Moreover, under the DOA mismatch and amplitude-phase error, two methods are developed to optimize the weight vector, enhancing the robustness of range ambiguity resolution. Simulation results are provided to confirm the effectiveness of the proposed methods.
