The levels and significance of MMP-9 in serum and amniotic fluid of preterm women with premature rupture of membranes

2010
Objective To investigate the relationship between the level of MMP-9 in serum and amniotic fluid of preterm women with premature rupture of membranes. Methods The levels of MMP-9 in serum and amniotic fluid were detected in 14 cases with premature rupture of membranes( premature group) and 14 cases of normal pregnancy( contrast group) by ELISA. Results The levels MMP-9 in serum and amniotic fluid of preterm women with premature rupture of membranes were significantly higher than those in contrast group( P 0. 05). Conclusion The levels of MMP-9 in serum and amniotic fluid of the pregnant women are associated with the onset of preterm labor.
