Wettability control using large-area nanostructured film

2010
We investigated the hydrophilicity of a large-area, transparent poly-(ethylene terephthalate) (PET) film with a pillar-like nanostructure; the hydrophilicity of the nanostructure was maintained even when it was covered with a large amount of water (30g). The hydrophilicity was maintained for more than 60days, which was longer than that in the case of other hydrophilic materials. In addition, the PET film with the pillar-like nanostructure was fabricated by the cost-effective UV imprinting process.
