A study of the 24 Mg( 3 He, n) 26 Si and 28 Si( 3 He, n) 30 S stripping reactions

2007
The24Mg(3He, n)26Si and28Si(3He, n)30S two-nucleon stripping reactions were studied at incident energies ofE3He=4.7 and 5.5 MeV, using the pulsed-beam time-of-flight technique. The angular distributions were obtained in an angular range from θ L =0° to θ L =150° (in the laboratory system) for the neutrons from the ground state (J π =0+), the first excited state (J π =2+,E x =1.79 MeV) and the second excited state (J π =2+,E x =2.78 MeV) of26Si; and for the neutrons from the ground state (J π =0+) and the first excited state (J π =2+,E x =2.21 MeV) of30S. A description of the results is presented in terms of the distorted-wave Born approximation and compound nucleus formalism and relative spectroscopic factors are deduced for the various levels concerned with the measurements.
