Effect of cyclophosphamide on lupus nephritis

Objective To investigate the therapeutic effects of cyclophosphamide administration on lupus nephritis. Methods Seventy-two patients with lupus nephritis treated in Anyang People’s Hospital from January 2015 to December 2018 were randomly divided into two groups, with 36 cases in each group. The control group underwent high dose glucocorticoid therapy, while the observation group was treated with cyclophosphamide on the basis of the control group.The total effective rate, complement component 3 (C3) and component (C4), immunoglobulin index, inflammatory factor, renal function index and adverse reaction rate were compared between the control group and observation group. Results The total effective rate in the observation group was higher than that in the control group (P 0.05). After treatment, the degree of complement C3 and C4 in the observation group was more significantly higher than that in the control group (P 0.05), but the degree of decrease in these indexes was more significant in observation group than that of the control group (P 0.05). After treatment, the degree of decrease in the observation group was more significant than that in the control group (P 0.05). Conclusions Cyclophosphamide administration can significantly improve the clinical effect, reduce the production of immune complexes, enhance immunity, reduce the degree of inflammatory reaction, improve renal function, with high safety.
