This paper describes the characteristics of obstetric urgency attended by Emergency Floriano-PI service. It is a descriptive, cross-sectional and retrospective cases of obstetric emergency attended by emergency department. 1.348 were recorded obstetric events, and majority (84,30%) was attended by Basic Support Unit of Life. Labor accounted for most complications (42,5%). More than half of women (53,5%) were aged 20-29 years. The advanced support ambulance attended, particularly, women who were in labor (7,6%). The incidents occurred mostly at night (28,8%) and on the outskirts of the city. Much of the calls involved the basic support unit of life, and labor the main obstetric complications answered, especially at night.
