Clinical observation of 120 cases with different contraceptive methods after induced abortion

2011
Objective: To study the clinical value of oral short-acting contraceptive in decreasing repeated abortion rate after induced abortion. Methods: 360 cases treated with induced abortion in our hospital were randomly divided into three groups, the A group were immediately treated with O type intrauterine contraceptive devices after induced abortion ,the B group were given oral short-acting contraceptive at the first day after induced abortion, the C group were told to forbid sexual life in a month with follow-up, then the vaginal bleeding and contraceptive failure were observed. Results: The IUD vaginal bleeding rate of A group was 27.15%, the vaginal bleeding rate of B group with oral short-acting contraceptive was 6.67%, C group was 8.33%, there were not significant differences between B group and A group ,P0.05, there were significant differences between A group and B group, C group, P 0.05. The IUD contraceptive failure rate of A group was 4.17%, contraceptive failure rate of B group with oral short-acting contraceptive was 0.83%, there was not significant differences between the two groups, P0.05. There were significant differences between A group, B group and C group, P 0.05. Conclusion: The oral short-acting contraceptive or intrauterine device can decrease the rates of unwanted pregnancyand repeated abortion, but the vaginal bleeding with intrauterine device is less than that of oral short-acting contraceptive, and it has more value of extension and clinical application.
